How LoreAI works

See it in action

Real examples for each feature — from adding your first book to chatting with the spoiler-safe Companion. Skim it, or follow along step by step.

A 30-second tour

  1. Search a book and add it to Want to Read.
  2. Start reading? Switch the status to Reading and log a session.
  3. Need a memory jog? Ask the Companion — it won't spoil past your page.

Step 01

Find a book

Search the catalog or paste a title you saw somewhere. LoreAI looks it up for you.

  1. From Home, tap the Search bar at the top.
  2. Type a title, author, or series (e.g. "Project Hail Mary").
  3. Pick the result that matches — you'll land on the book's detail page.

Example search

Type "Toni Morrison" → choose Beloved → tap Add to Library.

Can't find it?

Open My Books → New and add the title, author, and page count manually.

Try it on Home

Step 02

Track what you're reading

Mark books as Want to Read, Currently Reading, or Read so your shelves stay organized.

  1. On any book page, tap the status pill (Want to Read / Reading / Read).
  2. Use the Library tab to see everything by status.
  3. Drop into Want to Read to see your queue, or My Books for in-progress titles.

Building a TBR

Browsing a genre? Hit Want to Read on three titles — they'll all show up under To Read.

Marking finished

Done with a book? Open it → set status to Read. It moves to your Library shelf.

Premium. Ask spoiler-safe questions about a book you're reading — recaps, character refreshers, reflection prompts.

  1. Open Companion from the sidebar.
  2. Pick a book and set the page you've reached so the AI won't spoil ahead.
  3. Type a question, or tap one of the quick-action chips to start.

Who is that again?

"Remind me who Saoirse is — I'm at page 184." → spoiler-safe refresher.

Recap a chapter

Discuss a theme

"What is Beloved saying about memory and motherhood so far?"

Reflection prompts

Step 06

Track characters

Premium. Keep notes on who's who so you don't lose the thread in long or complex stories.

  1. Open Characters.
  2. Add a character with name, role, and a few notes.
  3. Revisit when you forget who someone is — faster than re-reading earlier chapters.

Step 07

Keep your streak

A small daily goal builds the habit. The Home screen tracks it.

  1. On Home, tap Edit Goal in the Daily Reading Goal card.
  2. Pick a realistic number of minutes (10–20 works for most readers).
  3. Log a session every day — the flame icon shows your streak.

Starter goal

New to a daily habit? Start at 10 minutes. You can raise it after a week of green days.
